At the 2014 New York Fashion Week, it’s always an exciting time to see what other stylists are up to, and we have a great time checking out what cool ideas we can bring back to our clients for the upcoming season! Nail art is one of the oldest forms of self-expression, dating back to ancient Egyptian women using henna dyes to color their nails. This year we saw a lot of half-moon designs, matte topcoats, and almond shaped talons. Other popular designs included rich dark colors, heavy metallic and of course, the always classic nudes.
In today’s world, nails & nail polish let us express our personality in different ways. There are so many ways to add style to our nails, whether we paint one nail a different color or add glitter. We could even go hodgepodge and do each nail differently! Here are a few nail polish samples from my clients at Design 1 for more ideas! Don’t forget to add the nail bling — we can give you a little edge by adding suds or make you feel like a princess with sparkling rhinestones.
Nail art can be anything you want it to be. So what are you afraid of? At your next manicure (or pedicure) appointment, I challenge you to step outside the box and try something new. After all… it is just polish.
